Our Story

KartWheel is more than just a product; it’s a mission to take the edge off of chaotic shopping moments and to remind our customers they have the tools to conquer anything that comes their way.

Rooted in the belief that we can all support each other as we work toward leaving the world better than we found it, KartWheel empowers caregivers by providing a simple solution to a stressful, often overlooked problem: shopping cart distractions.

Built on the values of care, community and empowerment, we recognize that just as often as life can be beautiful, wonderful, share-worthy…it can also be messy, lonely and clunky at times.

With KartWheel, you are not alone. Free up a little mental capacity, grab some peace of mind in the parking lot - so you can focus on what truly matters.

  • Enhanced Focus

Studies show that reducing environmental distractions can increase attention span by up to 20%, contributing to a more relaxed and enjoyable shopping experience.

  • Added Security

Nearly 66 children are treated in emergency rooms daily for shopping cart-related injuries, and shopping carts are the No. 1 cause of head injuries in young children. Safety is a paramount concern for caregivers, however the U.S. has no safety standards for shopping carts.

  • Boosted Efficiency

The average American spends 60 hours per year - yes, at least 10 minutes per day - spent physically shopping in grocery stores, department stores and retail outlets.

Made with love from the middle …

Meet KartWheel’s Founder

A mom of two littles, Kristen’s idea for KartWheel was sparked following a frightening, frustrating parking lot experience.

At the time, she was recovering from a c-section, exhausted and adjusting to life with a new baby and a toddler - the Mom Fog was real - when she decided there had to be an easier and more effective way to manage kiddos, load shopping bags and not lose track of the cart. From there, KartWheel was born.

A creative and inventor by nature, and with decades of experience in B2B and B2C business development, Kristen’s passion for her kids and the drive to find solutions to disheartening problems launched KartWheel into a must-have product for moms…and those seeking efficiencies in their day-to-day routines.

In addition to launching a startup and raising two boys, Kristen is on the Board of Directors for the Children’s Mercy Cancer Center and an active member at the Church of the Resurrection. She loves attempting to spend time with her husband, Mike, and knows she should read more books.
